Tips untuk pregnant

Ehm, rasanya post nih kene ada rating. 18 years and above only. Kalau bawah umur nanti kang baca pening pulak kepala.

*cough*

Untuk 8 bulan pertama kahwin, kami duduk asing asing. Husband kat KL, I was in Johor. Mintak pindah tak dapat, maka selama 8 bulan tuh selalulah jadik musafir. Meeting point kat Melaka (kampung kami).

Saya senyum aje. Hehe. Sebab tau kami nih tak macam orang lain, it is a very private matter tapi Alhamdulillah lepas tuh Allah makbulkan doa kami jugak =) Thank you Allah. It brings tears to my eyes each time I think about how it feels like a dream that came true. And because of that, I try to avoid from complaining.

In fact, kalau boleh tu, lepas kawin aje nak terus positif bila check UPT. Tak gitu?

Tapi rezeki masing-masing Allah dah tetapkan.

Assuming that you and your partner have zero health issue, cubalah amalkan petua-petua kat bawah ni manalah tau berkesan.

  • Spot the days when you are fertile. Depends on people and it also changes from month to month. So to be on the safe side and to ensure that you 'do' it on the right time, 'do' it every two days.
  • There are two ways (that I could remember) on detecting your fertile days. First, is via taking body basal temperature (I could be wrong about the name).
  • I still remember ada akak-akak kat sekolah lama yang sarankan jangan straightaway nak bangun lepas bersama. Baringlah dulu.
  • Pernah dengar tak petua orang kata minum susu kambing kalau nak dapatkan zuriat? I don't know how legit this is. Takut silap dengar.
  • Banyakkan membuat amal jariah, bersedekah.
  • Elakkan minum air kelapa, air bikarbonat, makan nenas dan papaya. Manalah tau kot-kot dah lekat tapi nanti gugur pulak awal-awal sebab badan tak tahan dengan makanan/minuman tu. Tapi saya dulu belasah aje makan dan minum sebelum tau pregnant. In fact, malam sebelum tau pregnant tu, dok minum segelas air bikarbonat dengan syoknya. Nasib baik lah takde pape -__-"
Kalau ada health issues, it's best to go and seek professional help. InshaAllah ada jalannya. Tapi both husband and wife kena bekerjasama. It takes two to tango and yes, two to make a baby too.

Amin.

One year ago

It was 1st May in 2010 where we had our merisik. Merisik is an important ceremony in Malay families. It's sorta like asking permission from the girl's side whether it's ok to befriend their daughter and it's also asking for their blessings in the relationship that is about to bloom. Some couples might have been committed to one another for years while some might be for months before they had this merisik ceremony. Most importantly, it means that the guy is ready to tie the knot with the girl and that the budget for getting married is there (or maybe on it's way there). It is also to indicate how serious that dude is and that he's not in it just for the fun of it.

Personally, I thought it would be a waste of money, time and energy. Hehe. I used to think so.

I would rather have an intimate akad / solemnization ceremony attended by close family and friends, followed by a feast for all. That would have been very cost effective (provided the menu is something simple - beehun goreng, anyone?)

But it all changed when Ammar's grandmom said that it is important to have this merisik ceremony and as headstrong that I am, I fell prey. :-p I listened to her explanation and agreed with most of her views.

And so we had our merisik ceremony on May 1st, 2010. Not many people know of this and I intended it to be so because as bubbly as I am (at times :-D), I am rather secretive.

It was a nerve wrecking experience because I had to cook for my future in laws! My absolutely darling mom was being her usual darling self, insisted on me preparing chicken rice for the future in laws. I prayed hard that the food won't taste bad. If our dishes really do represent our feelings and emotions upon preparing them, I sure hope that whoever eat my Nasi Ayam won't be fidgety with intolerable anxiety.

Luckily they turned out nice.

I put on my baju kurung and was very quiet and reserved.

My mom had my makcik as well as my paklong and aunty Aneesa (Paklong's wife - who is not Malay and was persistent in attending this ceremony -she wanted to know about all these things so that when her daughters' time has come, she would know how to handle them. Hehe.) to accompany her. Being the first daughter, this means that this is the very first time for things like these to occur in our family. We were so inexperienced and didn't know what to expect of.

Ammar didn't come though, it wasn't customary for the guy to attend this merisik ceremony. We were texting away while the elders did the negotiation on the coming events. It was all but a blur to me until the moment where we read our prayers (led by Ammar's Granduncle ) and this was followed by a ring given to me. A merisik ring. A very simple gold ring that symbolizes 'this girl is almost engaged - almost booked.' :-D

I was so happy when it ended. We were one step closer to being united for good.

We had about 3 weeks after that before my booking day ceremony or better known as bertunang. I was in a frenzy buying things for the gifts -hantaran as well as booking things that needed to be booked. It was going to be a simple but neat ceremony and I had everything DIY except the cooking part. Nah, that has got to be handed to the caterer.

Merisik was fun and definitely something to be remembered with a smile pasted on my face. Not for long now, it will be our one year anniversary since we said I do. Gosh.

my sexeh hubbeh makes me hungreh

I typed the title above as the status of my facebook profile, out out of the blue, while waiting for my next class because honestly I'm feeling kinda off this week (whatever off supposed to mean :-p). I am so used to seeing my husband on every weekend since we got married so having not to for the first time is a really trying time. Didn't expect that post to get many likes and comments. So random. Hee hee.

But what really got me beaming from ear to ear was a poem created by Eesha. My former dorm mate who could always get people laughing till they are out of breath. She's witty like that, aside from being gorgeous and sexeh :-p

She wrote this:

Diyana Didi Zulkifli- this one is for you (suggestion je,don't kill me please)

merenung bulan merindui hubbeh,
jantungku berombak menantikan hubbeh
kerana daku amatlah hungreh
untuk bersama-sama makan honeh (*honey)
kerana tanpamu hidupku amatlah tak sunneh (*sunny)
oh sayang,kaulah bunneh (*bunny)
eh tapi bukan yang playboy bunneh

hahahaha :-D now this would make a really good song to entice someone to bed. eh terlucah pulak saya haha. I rarely say this but weekend please end quick I wanna get next week done and over with!

Latest condition

My husband has to go through medical check up every few months so here's the latest news about his health condition. I've made an entry before about his deteriorating health condition. After years of being diagnosed with diabetes (15 years to be exact), it has been foreseen that all these would occur. It's just a matter of time and how bad.

He would meet the doctors next week after they analyzed his urine and blood but he already got his urine analysis. I have yet to see it but he told me that the uric acid and urea in his urine is now higher than before. Too much uric acid and urea could lead to many problems and you could search the net if you are curious about them. His kidney is now affected due to diabetes and therefore unlike the rest of us who have normal functioning pair of kidneys, his can't filter as well as ours. In order to curb this problem or at least to stop making them worse, he would have to watch what he eats. For an example, he can't take too much milk because although it is good, it could lead to phosphorus in his urine to be high. He should also lay off meat too as it is high in protein and too much of it could strain his kidney. But he is finding it to be difficult to manage his own diet as he is away from me and he usually goes home late so preparing his own meals is almost next to impossible.

We are now hoping not to make his health condition worse and although it could get frustrating at times, we are trying to maintain our composure and be positive. Our chances of having our own kids are quite slim but we are trying not to think too much about it. We leave it in God's hands and we try not to think of the what ifs because it could lead to devastation and could certainly shake our beliefs.

I can't believe that I'm typing this very matter-of-fact-ly and I believe I have gotten a lot stronger than before. Age probably has got to do with this :-) So that's all about my husband's latest condition. I am not good with words and often finding it difficult to explain things that are happening in our lives so hopefully typing about what is up could somehow let you keep track of our lives. I know some close friends are reading this so yes, this entry is done for you :-)

Have a good week, guys.

extra miles

My husband is right now on a plane, off to Bangkok for work. Loneliness suddenly enveloped me and I was not sure why. When I gave myself a minute to think, I realised that it's because this means that he would be milesss away from me. Further than we usually are. He will be back this Friday and I would get to meet him inshaAllah on Saturday, right after school ends (to replace the Tuesday we had off during Chinese New Year) but still, I can't shake off this sudden longing of having him near me (Batu Pahat and KL is just three hours away, not that bad, really), preferably beside me. And I wonder how do people deal with long distance marriage, I mean reallllllly long distance marriage like Hani, a friend of mine whose husband is residing in the States whilst she is currently teaching in Johor. It takes great courage, tenacity and hard work. Hats off to them for staying strong and I foresee a bright future for them and their marriage.

I pray that my husband would have a safe journey and for the meeting to be smooth as planned. I pray that he would not have a tough time there and could take a great care of himself. I hope he would remember to watch what he consumes as he is diabetic with some complications to boot. Gosh I wish I could be his personal assistant who is with him 24/7 but wait, I am his wife cum personal assistant but without a pay of course because I'm doing all that I have to do out of love. Hehe.

A month from now, if God wills everything to be going as planned, we would be on our honeymoon and I can't wait for it :-) It is kinda late, almost 6 months after our do but I'm not complaining. We had to make do with what we had (honeymooning during December last year was impossible due to his work load and lack of holidays - he took too many for raya + our wedding :-p and the budget was really tight towards the end of last year too). So, Alhamdulillah that we managed to squeeze this in ^_^

I forgot to ask him how long would his flight be but I'm guessing it would take between 1-2 hrs. Be good fluffy hubby (fluffeh - referring to the minions in despicable me :-p), I'll see you soonish and though it would be nice to see you all smiley and handsome this Saturday, it would be extra nicer to see you have some souvenirs for me too. Thai silk, perhaps? :-p

and tomorrow marks the fifth month of our marriage! :-)

wrapping this year up :-)

I don't always get what I want and that could be really painful to think. At times. Therefore, I made a promise to myself not to think about what I don't have. The what-ifs. Because I rather not dwelling in sadness when I could spend the rest of time with joy and calmness. Despite the whirlwind about my transfer, there were happier times that I am grateful for. Alhamdulillah.

1. My husband (he was my bf during that time) managed to go through several eye treatments and his condition has been getting on well from that point. The eye treatments (laser + injection to the eyes) were covered by his company's insurance and that was a huge relief because we otherwise might not be able to afford them.

2. Relationship wise, we were able to go through the merisik, bertunang and berkahwin stage all in a year. When we looked back at those times, it felt rather magical because it seemed like they happened on their own. Almost. Things just fall into the right places and what more could we say than praised be to Allah for letting them happened smoothly.

3. Economy wise, we are still struggling but the condition is better than last year's. We got better pay, I got to mark for English PMR (and I have bought a new handphone using the money I got from marking :-D), he got to buy his car and inshaAllah we will be going for our major honeymoon next March. We have paid for the tix and are now planning for the itinerary. Can't wait :-) Hopefully, this too will be a smooth sailing. It is my dream destination and to be able to go there for our honeymoon is like a dream come true, as corny as it sounds :-D

4. Our family grew larger with this marriage as well as our circle of friends. Can't help but too fall in love with each individual that I get to know and it is a relief for I did not find a hard time blending in. Neither does he. I thank God for being able to marry a man whose kampung is minutes away from mine as it gives a great advantage to us, especially in our circumstances where my mom is a single mom and his father is not really in the perks of his health. Being able to visit both during weekend is great :-)

There are many more things that I am grateful for but these are all that I could type as of now. I am rushing to pack my stuff because I had to go back to Batu Pahat next week for the school's meeting.

Have a great end-of-year everyone. I wish that all of you will wrap this year with contentment in your heart and hopefully next year will bring much joy and happiness to each of us. Ameen.

Take care :-)

3 months :-)

It has been 3 wonderful months and not a day of regret. If God wills it, I would like to be with you every single day because nothing beats laying beside you and it gives me a great unbeatable sense of satisfaction when I get to prepare your lunch to be eaten at work as well as to see you eating your dinner prepared by me. Catering you has never been a chore :-) I love you and your whole family too. Here's to many years to come, inshaAllah :-)

sick bug~

I feel like this..
aww~

It's because my husband is not feeling well right now. It has been so for the past three days. To top it off, I too am not feeling too good. I have been feverish when night comes for about a week now. I try to maintain my composure and beat this whatever-sick-bug that is bugging me to ensure that I could take good care of my husband.

Get well soon, suami.

rayuan pertukaran

Since my transfer application was rejected, we both decided not to forfeit and keep on fighting.

I initially wanted to just go to MOE but a teacher in my school suggested me to go to both JPNJ and MOE.

And so my husband took a day off yesterday (wednesday) in order to accompany me to go to these two places.

We started our journey to JPNJ early in the morning, after Subuh. Thanks to the GPS thingy, we managed to find that place. Kami tak reti sangat jalan kat JB. To those who are going to Jabatan Pelajaran for an appeal for transfer, you need to meet the pegawai for the bahagian sekolah menengah/rendah to hand him your letter. What you will need to give him are:- a letter of appeal, a copy of your transfer application, and copies of related documents (sijil nikah, surat sakit, etc). Dah jumpa and pot pet pot pet, you're done.

Next, we continued our journey to Putrajaya. Although we were rushing, we did stopped and had a rest at RnR Machap because we were both a bit tired from the journey. Suami saya pun dia tak buleh penat penat sangat sebab dia kan sakit.

After about half an hour, kami pun gerak semula ke Putrajaya, ikut cakap GPS lagik. Miss GPS bawak kami lalu route jalan belakang ke Putrajaya. Cayalah, miss GPS.

Bahagian sektor pengurusan sekolah menengah is at block E2, tingkat 4. Parking was a nightmare. It seemed so impossible to find one! Kesian tengok suami peluh peluh pastuh muka dia dah nampak penat. Takut jugak kalau kaki dia bengkak, sebab dia kalo penat/stress kaki dia akan senang bengkak (water retention sebab kidney dia tu). Bila dah bengkak, memang dia akan rasa tak selesa.

Naik aje tingkat 4, oh ramai rupanya cikgus cikgis yang nak buat rayuan. They even have a form for you to fill in. Kurang skit dah rasa cuak knowing that I'm not alone in this thing. Thumbs up.

After waiting for an hour, sambil kejap kejap tanye suami, "awak OK tak?" all the teachers pun kene go in this one room yang mana dup dap dup dap jugakla hati nih time nak masuk tuh. Phew. Note that only the teachers are allowed to go in this room. Maka sape yang bawak anak anak/babies tuh akhirnye kene tinggalkan kat luar jugak so to those yang nak bawak anak anak kecil tuh I would recommend you not to sebab tak buleh bawak masuk jumpa pegawai pun..nanti kesian dia nangis kene tunggu mak dia lama lama..

The first one gave a briefing on how to fill in the form and the necessary documents needed. The second one gave a briefing on the states yang memang payah nak masuk cikgu cikgi baru...which are..Terengganu & Kelantan unless you are an English teacher sebab they are lacking of them.

Lepas dah briefing, kami pun serahkan borang kami.

In my case, cikgu BI as a whole in KL da penuh, walopun kat sekolah sekolah ada je yang kurang cikgu BI but I still submit my rayuan anyway. Tak rasa sedih sangat time tuh sebab the two officers were really nice and the way the behaved, they meant business. Takde nak cakap bende bende yang menyakitkan hati.

Pukul 5 lebih, we were done. Kesian jugak pekerja pekerja kat situ, mesti penat kene kerja lebih masa sket dari biasa and had to meet hundredssss of people with different stories and circumstances. Tak lama lagi mesti reach thousand something sebab semalam dapat borang dah number 900++.

We tried what we could. Semalam sampai aje umah, memang masing masing terus pengsan atas katel. Dalam hati, kesian sangat kat suami. Mesti dia penat, dah la time kerja penat, time cuti pun penat gak. Sobs sobs. Hari nih nak masak nasik ayam yang super sedap penuh kasih sayang untuk dia. Hihi. Malam ni before tido nak urut kaki dia lama lama sket sebab semalam penat sangat, tak larat nak urut huhu.

InshaAllah kalau ada rezeki.
Kalau takde..takpe, kita tengok alternatif lain.

BTW, rayuan pertukaran nih sebenarnye takde pun dalam prosedur. Dia layan sebab ihsan saje dan dia gelar this procedure as "Rayuan Semakan Semula Penempatan".

Dua bulan.

Okeh kami da due bulan berkawen. Hihi. Best? Oh memang. Gaduh gaduh? Mestila ade. hihi. Tapi setakat ni tak pernah gadoh sampai bila tido pun pandang tempat lain lain tanda protes. Akhirnya akan ended up cuddling jugak. Mane sampai hati nak resist my sizzling hot fluffeh husband.

Dan biasalah, waktu bujang, orang tanya "bila nak kawen?" Bila dah kawen nih orang tanya pulak "dah ade ke blum?" dah ade tuh maksudnye selalunye adelah :- dah pregnant ke belum. Taktaula kalau orang orang terbabit memaksudkan yang selain daripadanye.

Tapi so far belum ade rejeki. We do not plan when are we to have a baby, we leave it in God's hands. Bila tiba masenye mesti seronot, walopun ngeri sesikit. (Ngeri sebab bila baca pengalaman orang bersalin tuh macam huiii berderau darah). Takpe, the time will come inshaAllah. Bosan jugak sebenarnye bila orang asyik tanya the same question that I have no knowledge of, again and again. Rase macam nak aje cakap "Entahlah ek cube puan wat appointment dengan Tuhan, tanya bila saya dapat baby kalo dah tau nanti jangan lupa bitau saye yek buleh kami wat preparation awal awal. Tenkiu!".

Oh tapi aku nih jarang la bersikap kurang ajar cemtuh. Kecuali kalau mood tak baik.

Time mood tak baik pun orang selalunye leh nampak dari air muka aku maka mereka tak berapa sangat nak melemparkan pernyataan mahupun pertanyaan yang menjengkelkan. Hehe.

Kerap jugak orang bagi komen badan dan gumuk hehe mungkin mereka ingat umah aku takde cermin tapi salah ye, umah aku nih cermin masih tip top dan memang nampak reflection diri sendri dengan jelas. Mata pun cerah. Tak pakai spek. Jadik keperluan untuk menonjolkan penyataan badan dah berisi tuh saye tak nampak langsung keperluannya selain daripada sengaja nak membangkitkan perasaan yang menjengkelkan. Like, duh, I DO own a mirror. Or were you fishing for my compliment and hope that I'll throw this at ya "ituh la kann eh cemane ek ko nih kurus selim melim aje teringin aku nak kurus macam ngko". Which I won't. Sebab what works for you doesn't necessarily means that it will work on me too. Lagipunnnn I've learned to love myself and if you have a problem with how I look then too bad, you are too confined in your own vanity to see the world outside yours.

Sejak dah kawen nih belum pernah lagik dapat jaga suami bebetul. Harap harap time cuti skolah ujung taun nih dapat la kan. Buleh la rase jadik surirumahtangga hehe. Tetiap malam dapat la urut kaki suami tak ape, saye rela, sebab kalau tak urut nanti kang kesian, tak sampai hati tengok muka dia berharap kaki dia kene urut. Lagipun dia senang tertido time kaki kene urut, sekejap aje urut tengok tengok dah lelap. Maka, tak lame mane pun urut tuh., tak sempat nak penat pun :-D

3 jumaat lagi

2 jumaat lagi and we'll be celebrating Aidilfitri.

3 Jumaat lagi and I'll be somebody's wife.

InsyaAllah.

Here's a conversation between me and ermm me (heheh).

dD2 : Cik, boleh saye menebual cik?

dD : Oh pasti.

dD2 : Oh bukan, maksud saye your feeling lah (sengal!)

dD : Oh sori sori, saye blur skejap tadi. Almaklumlah, tengah pikir pasal macam macam benda kan. Hmm cemane nak eksplen ye. Perasaan saye nih macam bercampur baur gitu. I feel excited most of the time. At times, however, I do feel nervous and anxious which is because I have no power of knowing how the majlis will turn out, will it be perfect, will everything be going on smoothly, will I be able to finish preparing everything on time and will I actually forget to do anything important? *gigit gigit jari*

dD2 : Tolong jangan gigit jari anda. Cik dah besar ye, tak comel dah buat cemtuh. *cough cough* Bagaimana dengan persiapan cik so far?

dD : (ngko nih tanye gini nak buat aku nerbes ke ape) hmm dah siap la ape yg perlu disiapkan awal2 tuh. Tapi dulang hantaran masih dalam progress. Time cuti nak raye nih baru la pulun siapkan. Wat sndri aje okeh. Berpeluh la perah idea cube nak jadik kreatip nanti. Kalau huduh jangan gelak. Kecik ati.

dD2 : Lepas kawin nanti cemane pulak perancangan anda berdua? Kat mane nak tinggal nnt?

dD : Oh this has never been an issue between us. I want to be where he is and I'll apply for a transfer :-)

dD2 : (eh eh senyum melebar pulak pempuan nih teringt kat tunang dia) And any plans about kids?

dD : Oleh sebab dah berumahtangga mestila secare natural nya saye nak anak anak as soon as possible. Semoga adelah rezeki kami, tak gitu.

dD2 : Ye, gitu.

dD : Pandai ngko tanye soklan bonus yeh. Heh heh. For me, a marriage is like a turning point. I want to see come changes, both mentally and physically. And by saying physically, I hope I won't be expanding horizontally though. I would don a more proper outfit. I'm not getting any younger, I had my fun and it's time to focus on the hereafter :-) I'll try to speak less or probably none of hurtful things, I'll try to act more responsibly and have more patience. I'll try.

dD2 : Whoa, that's a lot of things to be done!

dD : I know. Duh.

dD2 : Any wishes or secret hopes?

dD : If I tell you, it won't be much of a secret anymore la dey. Heh. Hmm. I do strongly hope that I would be able to see as many familiar faces as I could on our wedding day. I hope everyone would be happy and wish us well :-)

dD2 : :-) Things will go well, don't worry too much! OK I'm having the urge to go to the toilet. Cannot tahan. Gonna have to wrap this up. Mwahs mwahs. Much love!

dD : Thanks sweetie!

major things off the list

Months before the wedding can be quite a challenge. There are tons of things we have to deal with and luck plays a MAJOR part.

Alhamdulillah our lucky stars seem to be working well with us and things have so far been going on great.

I was really stressed out (overwhelmed, actually) a few weeks back due to these many things that need to be settled but thank goodness, we now see a light at the end of this tunnel :-p

Last weekend made us super human for we managed to cross wedding invitation card, door gift, the hall's decoration, baju pengantin and (almost) the borang keizinan kahwin off our list. Phew!

The borang keizinan is not totally off the list because I'm still waiting for my uncle to sign my form (he's the wali) and after that, it can be submitted to the local pejabat agama to be processed :-)) It was a tedious task to get the form to be completed because you need many people's signature and you want to avoid mistakes for mistakes can lead to controversies (imam ni kawasan mana, etc nanti takut derang bertingkah) and we nearly had one if not for my ketua taman who saved us hehehehe. Cikgu Raihan, you are totally invited to our do.

I'm also super glad because the people we are dealing with for this wedding matter are very, very helpful and they made us at ease. We could stay within our budget because of these people. Rezeki :-) and I'm definitely going to blog about them and the service they offer!

Phew. and next week I'm planning on buying a few items for the hantaran.

favors

Comel gila tahap mahaguru kepada gaban, kan? The images above are taken from http://oleolemanis.blogspot.com/search/label/VIP%20Favors . This is the website to go gaga (especially to all b2bs) because the products they offer are so adorable!

Both of the paper bags above would make a wicked favor bag. Kalo saya dapat paper bag cemgini kat wedding orang, sumpah tak buang. However, I'm on a limited budget maka hanya meleleh air liur saja lah tahan geramm amm amm. We both have agreed to have a neat and simple wedding so I'm sticking to that.

Tapi kalo ada sesape yang mencari cari adorable favors or favor bags, this is one of the websites that you have to check out!

We would be meeting this kakak in Krubong, Melaka this Sunday. She would probably be the one whom we would make a deal with about our wedding favor. Nothing fancy. Hint hint : benda ini buleh dimakan dan ianya manis *because I hope our life after marriage would be sweet too ;-)* The favors for the VIP would be a bit different with probably something extra but we are still deciding on that. And when I say VIP, it means our close relatives who would be working their behinds off making sure that our wedding ceremony would be smooth :-) Can't wait to meet this akak so that I can get one thing off the to-do list!
