major things off the list

Months before the wedding can be quite a challenge. There are tons of things we have to deal with and luck plays a MAJOR part.

Alhamdulillah our lucky stars seem to be working well with us and things have so far been going on great.

I was really stressed out (overwhelmed, actually) a few weeks back due to these many things that need to be settled but thank goodness, we now see a light at the end of this tunnel :-p

Last weekend made us super human for we managed to cross wedding invitation card, door gift, the hall's decoration, baju pengantin and (almost) the borang keizinan kahwin off our list. Phew!

The borang keizinan is not totally off the list because I'm still waiting for my uncle to sign my form (he's the wali) and after that, it can be submitted to the local pejabat agama to be processed :-)) It was a tedious task to get the form to be completed because you need many people's signature and you want to avoid mistakes for mistakes can lead to controversies (imam ni kawasan mana, etc nanti takut derang bertingkah) and we nearly had one if not for my ketua taman who saved us hehehehe. Cikgu Raihan, you are totally invited to our do.

I'm also super glad because the people we are dealing with for this wedding matter are very, very helpful and they made us at ease. We could stay within our budget because of these people. Rezeki :-) and I'm definitely going to blog about them and the service they offer!

Phew. and next week I'm planning on buying a few items for the hantaran. Semoga dapat beli barang mantap pada harga yang wow dan menjamin kepuasan suami saya bila dia pakai after kahwin nanti!!

favors

Comel gila tahap mahaguru kepada gaban, kan? The images above are taken from http://oleolemanis.blogspot.com/search/label/VIP%20Favors . This is the website to go gaga (especially to all b2bs) because the products they offer are so adorable!

Both of the paper bags above would make a wicked favor bag. Kalo saya dapat paper bag cemgini kat wedding orang, sumpah tak buang. However, I'm on a limited budget maka hanya meleleh air liur saja lah tahan geramm amm amm. We both have agreed to have a neat and simple wedding so I'm sticking to that.

Tapi kalo ada sesape yang mencari cari adorable favors or favor bags, this is one of the websites that you have to check out!

We would be meeting this kakak in Krubong, Melaka this Sunday. She would probably be the one whom we would make a deal with about our wedding favor. Nothing fancy. Hint hint : benda ini buleh dimakan dan ianya manis *because I hope our life after marriage would be sweet too ;-)* The favors for the VIP would be a bit different with probably something extra but we are still deciding on that. And when I say VIP, it means our close relatives who would be working their behinds off making sure that our wedding ceremony would be smooth :-) Can't wait to meet this akak so that I can get one thing off the to-do list!

Look out, there's a B2Bster coming your way!

B2B stands for bride to be, just in case you're wondering. As much as I can't wait to get married hahahha (ye saye gatal!) I also cringed every now and then thinking about how there's mountain of stuff to be done!

I have always been a very cool, calm and collected person (heheh) and I have always thought that I would make a real cool bride to be too.

And now I'm thinking no.

I might just be the next B2Bster. A monster lah tuh.

Even the simplest thing such as finding a make up artist to help glam up your look is a VERY tiring task.

Hours of google-ing, surveying for reasonable rates and looking at whether their work is either blah or wow, can be frustrating at times.

And I'm trying to not think too much about the money issue, because that would really drive me insane :-D

So in these few months, please excuse me if you find me a bit intolerable or to put it simply, a pain in the behind.

You've been warned :-D

A saying to make your day :-)

I stumbled upon this saying on my friend's FB status and I just couldn't help mentioning it here. I hope she doesn't mind :-). To all those who are in search of their loved ones, keep on trying and I hope you'll find that person. To those who have found theirs, congratulations, here's to many happy years together :-)

I've found mine :-)

Mmmmurni om nom nom nomm

The fiance told me that Murni had been relocated to somewhere near Dataran Prima. Murni is one of my favourite-est est estt (nih suka tahap gaban la nih) place to eat. I particularly love their claypot lo shu fun. Cheap and tasty. Beat that.

So we went to the new place on Sunday.

But it was closed! Due to renovation. Out of all days, why must it be done on that day?! I HATE RENOVATION WITH A PASSION.

So we went to William's who is the brother to the owner of Murni (so said the fiance).

Naturally, I asked for lo shu fun. But it was not claypot lo shu fun. It tasted blah too. Luckily the chocolate avocado drink is good. Really good. It's almost like drinking a very thick milkshake! But I still miss Murni's goodies :-(

As a food lover that we always are, we went to Murni's new place (again!) on Wednesday night. Fingers and toes crossed that it will be opened and there is a seat for us (Murni can get pretty full at times. Well, all the time to be precised). And we were lucky!

We arrived around 9. Not good for my losing-the-weight mission but I'll make it up by working out really really hard in the gym, after the holiday ends. In like, 1 week ++. Hmpph.

Murni's new place is decent. There are plenty of tables to accommodate the customers. There is also a menu too! The old place has no menu and what I ended up doing was always to glance at what others are eating and ordered the same as theirs. Or I would just go with Claypot Lo Shu Fun :-D

Roti Hawaii is our favourite (the one with spiderweb mayo on top)

Affordable western food and they taste real good too!

The mocktails are nice too. I always ask for I Love You (sambil buat muka menggoda kepada waiter - tapi tak pernah dpt air free. hmmph. fail lah).

Ais kosong, I Love You mocktail and Teh C kosong. Lengkap :-)

The fiance ordered Roti Hawaii while my dinner was Chicken Spaghetti Carbonara.

Roti Hawaii.

My (fattening) chicken spaghetti carbonara

....and just in case you were wondering whether we managed to finish our dinner?

We were famished coming in. We were full and round(er) coming out of the shop :-p

Oh BTW, upon asking the cashier, we were corrected. This is the second branch for Murni. The old one is still in business too!

Skincare and gimmicks

Women are powerful consumers. We spend fortunes on many things, particularly on beauty related stuff. As time goes by, we can see varieties of skincare products being advertised and each of them claim that they have this miracle ingredients that could make our skin looks and feels better.

Do they really work?

I have no idea. But I do know that the cleanse-tone-moisturise routine is essential and if you don't slack off, your skin will thank you for it. Regardless of the skincare brand you are using and the amount you have paid for it.

If you have 10 minutes to spare, do watch this clip below about skincare gimmicks. It's downright funny and managed to tickle my funny bone! But homour aside, this clip also gives you a thought on how cunning these beauty companies can be. So don't be fooled and don't spend your hard earned moolah on stuff that works just as well as their cheaper rivals do!

All grown up!

About a week ago, I did something pretty grown up-ish.

Oh my gosh, the preparation took weeks. The gifts, cleaning up the house, re-painting the walls, dealing with the caterer, so on and so forth. I have a small family so I pretty much had to do things on my own with the help of my mom and my brother.

But I was thrilled and excited, of course.

And all the hard work and sweat paid off on May 29th, 2010.
When I officially became the fiance of a guy whom I really adore and love
:-)

Yes, I got engaged :-) And I'm so glad and I felt like I was on top of the world! (Well, almost on top, there is still a few months to go before I would really feel that I'm on top of the world!! ^^)

Wish us luck!!

And meet Ammar, the fiance :-)

'tis the season to shop

Alas, it's the mid year and sale is sprouting everywhere. Most of them brilliantly call this sale as the 'school break sale' which I fail to comprehend :- Is this sale aiming at the students? Or the teachers (who are on hols too tee hee hee :-p) or the parents to keep their kids' time occupied by giving them money to shop?

I have no idea.

But I guess it's all good. For those who are wise at managing their money though. Ahem.

Some people take this opportunity to buy the stuff they've been lemming for months and they have been saving up money. Whilst some people just take this opportunity to reason out the buying they do more during this season ;-D

I know two outlets are on sale and they are the Bodyshop and also Etude House (just in case you have no idea what it is, it's a korean brand for cosmetics and skin care).

Bodyshop is having its annual sale (they have this sale in June each year) and lots of stuff are going cheap for as low as 50 percent off the marked price. I might be getting their mascara that I have been eyeing for a year (yes, a freakin year!). I fell in love with it upon the first try on the mini tube that I got for free when I bought their vanity case last year.

Etude House is my favourite beauty shop for their brushes are really off the hook! They work wonders and don't cost a fortune :-) I bought all the brushes during sale (they go on sale quite often actually). Another beauty product of theirs that got me hooked is their tissue facial mask. They are good and they don't drip. I hate wearing mask that drips. It feels like a waste. My favourite mask has got to be the Lemon mask which brightens up your skin. They go for RM 4.83 each now so it's high time to buy them in bulks :-)

Now let's get vain :-P
