measle- ified
Sorry for the horrific title of the entry, I totally created that word. I don't think it exist but it is THE word that best describes the condition that I am in right now. Read on and you'll have a clear picture :)
MARCH 20, 2009 (FRIDAY)
Went to KL with my not-so-little-brother (he's waaay taller than me now) to settle his pc problem. That thing took less than half an hour but since we spent nearly 2 hours on our journey, we decided to linger a little bit in KL. We ate a lot. Well, actually HE ate a lot. But I've succumbed to my whim and drank some icy cold drinks even though I was still coughing like mad. Bad mistake.
We spent hours wandering around and I did some shopping. Discovered Etude House at Berjaya Times Square and I was in heaven for a little while, looking in awe at all those cutesy make up and skincare stuff. Ahh~ my deepest desire is to own a store like this and you bet you'll find me there all the time, testing out the make up on myself :D
I did not feel so bad when I was driving back to our home. But upon reaching home, gosh, I felt like I could collapse. Did my skincare regime in a flash and I prepared myself to bed. Doze off in a minute and when he called, I think I mumbled my words throughout the conversation :P :P
MARCH 21, 2009 (SATURDAY)
Went to a friend's wedding. I felt so lazy upon waking up, thinking that it must be because I had spent so much energy on yesterday's outing. But, no matter how lazy I felt, I spent about an hour (approximately hehehe) on preparing myself to go to the wedding. Had the chance to try on the Etude House's Eye Brightening Duo that I bought yesterday.
It was great to see old school mates at the wedding. And as I've suspected, there were only cold drinks served for us and I had no choice but to indulge in a glass or two of cold, refreshing air sirap :P and the weather was really hot at that time. The combination of hot and cold must have been bad.
Oh btw, the bride and the groom looked totally happy. They were both my classmates. How would we know that 10 years later they'll walk the aisle together? ^^. Cuteness. The groom never made it known to others (even to his guy friends) that he has a crush on the bride.
Spent the evening of Saturday wandering around aimlessly altho it was a lot of fun nonetheless. It's the company that counts, right ;) Spent the night watching football match and Man U seemed to just be in a real bad luck since last week, don't they?
I felt a little weak during that match. My body was acting kinda weird. I thought it was the flu. I woke up quite a couple of times in the middle of that night.
MARCH 22, 2009. (SUNDAY)
I was shocked to look at myself in the mirror. My face was red, swollen and I have bumpy red spots all over it. It felt like looking at another person. Gosh, and I was supposed to go back today and start working on the next day. The were also spots all over my shoulder and tummy. I think I got measles :(
The doctor at the 1st clinic that I went to asked me to go to the hospital for a blood test. It is the dengue season and she doesn't want to take any risk. So to the hospital I went.
After some questioning session (gosh it felt like I was being interrogated, haha) I was asked to lay down on a bed. And to my surprise, there was a corpse not far (more like besides, actually) from that bed. Horror! My blood was taken and I was injected with something that is suppose to help me ease the itchiness. And I kid you not when I said that it hurts so bad :( I even shed some tears after that. But I did it secretly, of course, while I was sitting and waiting for the test result.
And it was a relief to know that I was not suffering from dengue.
But the fever was still there and it was one of the worst that I've ever had in my entire life. It was so hot, I felt like my head is gonna explode and my eyes are gonna bleed. Bought 3 coconuts at Jaya Jusco to help ease the pain and make the spots come out faster. The people in JJ must thought that I am a girl suffering with a really bad eczema. *shudders*
MARCH 23, 2009.(MONDAY)
The fever has gone away so it doesn't feel that bad anymore. My face does not look swollen anymore although the skin still looks bumpy with the spots. My body still has that spots and it was now all over me, from top until about my knees. Gosh how I missed the good ol days where my skin was smooth :,(
It was also hard to swallow because my throat hurts really bad. This is probably because of the high fever that I had to endure on Sunday. Gosh, I think two weeks of this would be sufficient in losing heaps of kilos because not even the most delicious looking food could get me to eat! And eating was not even the worst part yet. Even laying down was hard to do because it felt so darn uncomfortable. Funny how little things like, a throat, could affect you in so many ways.
Called the school to inform that I would be on leave (most likely up until Friday) and half of the population must've have known by now that I got measles over the holiday. Heck, there are probably some who are jealous too because I got like, extended holidays. If they want the risk of having scars on their complexion in trade with an extended holidays, gosh they are so welcome to take my place.
MARCH 24, 2009 (TUESDAY)
Fever has completely gone and I think all of the spots have came out of hiding. So right not it is just the matter of waiting all of them to fade away. My face still feels bumpy and the spots are still clearly visible. I can't wait for all of it to go away. I could kiss the mirror when that day comes.
Went to the post office to poslaju the questions paper for the Form 1's English test that is set for next week. Tried to fax them yesterday and the Pembantu Am Rendah (PAR) said that it was blurry. The mail is scheduled to reach school probably on Thursday and I hope the PAR won't be so much of a lazy bum and riso (it's sorta like photocopy, only cheaper) the questions straight away. I had to ask a favour from a colleague to staple the question papers together and luckily she is willing to do so although this week is a really hectic week for her. So I hope everything will go smoothly because I hate it so much if I appear to be incompetent in my work!
And gosh, now I had nothing much to be done. It's kinda boring actually to just sit at home. I don't mind the holidays though, but it's just not so fun to have these days off and having to spend them being passive. I had to. When I went out to the post office, although it was only for a while, I already started to feel giddy and I had this weird cold sensation all over. Gah, guess this means I'm gonna have to spend more time resting on my bed. Let's just hope my brain cells won't be deactivated after so much of lavishing in nothingness.
P/S - Tomorrow's my 25th birthday (March 25) I get to spend it looking probably one of the worst that I've ever looked on my birthday :P
